Happy National Cleavage Day: Be Breast Aware

In celebration of National Cleavage Day, I wanted to make everyone aware of their lady lumps and the importance of checking them regularly to rule out any possibilities of breast cancer. Most women who notice a change in their bosoms will often go and visit their doctor, but for the girls who don't normally think about it (and it is easy to forget when we're always so busy...) here's a few handy tips to make sure you are more informed so you can get into the habit of making routine inspections.

A brilliant website I've been looking at is called Breakthrough Breast Cancer and you can visit it here: http://www.breakthrough.org.uk/ They have an easy to remember slogan called 'TLC' and it is extremely useful...

TOUCH. Make sure to feel around for anything that is different than usual.

LOOK. Have a look at them. Keep an eye out for any strange changes.

CHECK. And most importantly, if you have any doubts whatsoever go and see your GP.

I hope this post has encouraged you to look after yourself and what your mamma gave you! Have a great National Cleavage Day ladies :)

POTM: Killer Queen by Katy Perry

I can happily admit that I'm a celebrity fragrance addict. This latest fragrance by Katy Perry is my Perfume of the Month. It makes me feel sexy, radiant and above all, royal (see what I did there?!) It's top notes include scents of dark plum, wild berry and bergamot. Middle notes of red velvet flower, jasmine and plumeria are beautiful, and the lower notes of cashmeran, patchouli heart and liquid praline help to establish this as a truly unique and exotic fragrance in the current market. I was bought this as a Christmas present, but I know that it's available to buy for about £22.99 in Boots, Superdrug, and The Fragrance Shop to name a few. The perfume isn't too harsh to wear and has a lovely, sweet smell to it which lasts all day. Perry's bottle design is inspired by a Queen's Sceptre... and if you're wondering about the name choice it's because after hearing Freddie Mercury sing as a teenager, she had an epithany to become an empowered Killer Queen. 'Guaranteed to blow your mind'... Have you tried this fragrance yet?

Shopping Haul #01

Life can get very hectic, but it shouldn't ever get so busy that we can't take some time out for a little retail therapy. I find that I'm usually stuck in an endless routine of either attending university or working constantly, so by the time pay day eventually does roll around, I am very pleased. Of course I have to pay for things like my car insurance and my mobile phone bill (I do a lot of overtime), but I do like to treat myself now and again... who doesn't?

I've been looking after my nan this week near London, so I took some time out to escape the house for a little while and indulge in some spending on the high street in Sutton. As you can see I bought a few odds and sodds. I waltzed into Primarni (my name for Primark) and picked out a stunning summer dress in a bold red print for £13.00. I want to try and incorporate looks from different eras into my summer wardrobe this year, and I thought this little dress looked like it belonged in the 1950s (plus it's so adorable).

The shoes were purchased from Primark as well and cost me £10.00. I've been moaned at recently at work by the big store managers for wearing black converse with white tips (yes)... which is why they are entirely plain. The price was quite reasonable and I thought they'd go well with any outfit - see I can be sensible with my money!

Even though I'm 20, I only just got my ears pierced last November. It had always been that something that had never crossed my mind, therefore I'd never got it done. But I decided I wanted to look glamorous with pretty earrings, so I had to get them pierced and take the plunge (eek). These beautiful heart earrings are from New Look and they only cost me £2.25 in the sale - kaching! I now have quite a few earring boxes piling up in my bedroom, so I needed to find a nice earring holder to store all of them. I found a really sweet looking strawberry one in Claire's Accessories for £8.00 and knew I had to have it!

Poundland is always a great place to pick up a few cheap essentials. I have a new iPod nano now (thank you student finance!), but I haven't been able to play out my tunes on my dock speaker because the iPod model is so new. I was really chuffed when I spotted this tiny adapter, because I can now blast my music out without a care in the world and it was only a pound! And of course... a girl can never have too many makeup remover wipes. I've ran out completely so I was thrilled to bits to find out that it was buy one get one free for two packs. Overall, I think I did pretty well on that shopping trip! Have you spoilt yourself lately?

Skincare Routine: Love The Skin You're In

Biggest realisation of this year so far: there is simply not enough concealer in this world to hide all of those yucky blemishes we get from time to time. We can't ignore it - our skin is prescious and must be looked after properly. I am most definitely guilty of going to bed with makeup still on my face (which is something I wouldn't ever recommend doing, however it's unavoidable sometimes!). The makeup that we end up leaving on our face because A. We can't be bothered to take it off, B. We're too tired to clean it off, C. (Insert another excuse here) does really make a difference to our appaearance because we are essentially stuffing our pores full of dirt collected from over the course of the day, hence why we wake up with a few nastys!

Boots - £3.59

A free sample from a magazine that I've been using.

Wilkinsons - 99p (http://www.wilko.com)
My skincare regime is pretty simple really. Once in the morning before applying my makeup (if I have the time) and once before bedtime, so the product(s) get to work overnight. I usually like to fully cleanse/steam my face with warm water, and then I use a cotton pad to wipe the cleanser on. I'm currently using Nivea's Daily Essentials 2 in 1 Cleanser & Toner which is great because it saves time. I'll then take that off after leaving it on for a few minutes, and then apply a moisturiser all over my face and neck. I normally like to use a face mask at least once a week to deeply clean everything, but I stick to my general regime every day religiously. If you're looking for great facial products with value for money, then Wilkinson's is the place to go! Or just go onto http://www.wilko.com to browse through their amazing ranges.  Voila! That is how I keep my skin looking nice and fresh. What do you include in your skin routine?

What's In My Makeup Bag?: March

*Item prices are approximate*

1. Charlie Touch Body Spray
Not exactly the most glamorous of scents, but nice and refreshing all the same! I like to carry mini ones around with me so I can easily slip them into my bag.

2. L'oreal Paris Nude Magique BB Cream (Light Skin Tones) - £9.99
My absolute lifesaver and 'go to' product of this year so far (keep an eye out for the review coming soon). This is a blemish balm, so it looks exactly like a foundation, except it is much better for your skin. It is a 5 in 1 perfecting cream, so it moisturises everything, gives you great coverage all day long and protects your face with an SPF 12. Girls... please use BB creams instead of foundations! They won't even clog your pores :)

3. L'oreal Paris Nude Magique BB Blush - £7.99
I'm definitely a fan of L'oreal products aren't I? This blush is excellent when used on the apples of your cheeks after having used the BB cream/concealer/etc. It comes out as a gel (weird right?) so when it is put onto the skin and rubbed in, it creates a gorgeous, rosy glow.

4. Nivea Daily Essentials Tinted Moisturising Day Cream in 'Natural' - £.3.66
This is one of those makeup items that I don't use that often but I just keep in the bag anyway. I bought it when I was first experimenting with tinted moisturisers. It works as a great foundation base if I run out of the other product I'm using. It evens the skin tone out, but I would suggest if you buy this that you mix it with a moisturiser first before applying because it can be quite dry.

5. Minnie Mouse Front Row Silver Eye Dust
Ideal for that quick, smokey eye look. Goes with any outfit too!

6. Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H in '01 Black' - £7.99
A recent find! So much easier to create tidy flicks than a liquid liner because the gel is quite thick, and it comes with a brush to glide it on easily (bonus!) I have used this product so much since I bought it, and there's still so much of it left in the pot.

7. Clarins Lipstick in Red Shade '330' - £19.00
Red is my signature lip colour. It gives a sexy pop of colour when on a night out. I also dab it on to my lips sometimes with my fingers if I want it to look a bit more natural/subtle.

8. Collection Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer in 'Glow 3'
Helps to conceal my dark circles and blemishes. I use it as a quick base before anything else, especially to brighten up tired eyes.

A Memory Jar: Giving Your Year That Extra Bit of Sparkle

It has been over a year since I last posted, and this time guys I am back for good... funnily enough it is now March again! Towards the end of 2013, I was enjoying a relaxing night in surfing the web when I came across an image on Tumblr. It was a glass jar and on the side of it was a post it note. The sticky note said 'Start 2014 off with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. On New Years Eve, empty it and see what amazing things happened that year'. For someone who absolutely loves memories whether big or small, I thought this was a fab idea! I'm normally quite a pessimistic type, so I was really keen to do this to give myself a positive kick every now and again. I bought a jar, decorated it with bows and glitter card, and have been filling it with colourful post it notes ever since January. It's cheap to do and I can't wait to empty it all at the end of December and reminisce over everything great! I persuade everyone to start one...you still have 10 more months of memories to savour! Years from now I guarantee I would have kept all of my jars to look through on a rainy day. Have any of you got your own memory jars?
